About this Event
If you're stuck deciding between doing taxes on your own or paying a professional, consider attending one of my DIY Tax Return Parties. Why: Tax filing can be stressful, particularly for a new business. However, it may not be necessary for everyone to hire a pro. I'll assist you through the process of filing your own taxes by answering your questions. Who: DIY Tax Parties work great for those filing individuals returns including freelancers and owners of single owner LLCs or sole proprietorships. If you own a partnership or corporation, I recommend that you engage myself or another professional to first file your business return. Frequently Asked Questions Q: What's the cost? A: $50. This does not include any filing fees or software costs. I recommend attendees use H&R Block online, as I am very familiar with the product and can best assist party attendees using that program. You can find the filing costs here. Q: What the hell is a tax party? A: It sounds silly, right? Most people try to do their tax returns on their own at home and end up getting very frustrated. I recommend signing up for a tax party with a friend. Camaraderie makes it more fun. Plus, we can order pizza and bring wine! I do cap each DIY Tax Filing Party to 7 party goers, so I can provide the proper attention and time needed to assist everyone. Most of these events will be at co-working spaces. It's a casual atmosphere, so feel free to be comfortable. We do still have all of the modern office amenities expected. Q: What's in it for Braden? This seems like a killer deal for the party goer. A: It's simple. I'm all about transparency. Tax parties allow me an opportunity to help those who do not wish to engage a tax attorney or CPA. My hope is that you enjoy the experience so much that you keep Braden Drake Law in mind for any future legal or tax needs. Also, I love educating individuals on income tax. It's one of the best parts of my job!
